Dragonflies
The dragonflies are coming. They're looking, hunting, hoping they'll finally find someone like you. Someone who looks at stars and finds themselves small and finds that to be a comfort. Someone who dreams with their whole heart and can't help but be who they are.
And once they find you, they won't ever let go.
They will follow you down orchards and find you halfway round the world. They will tell you stories, tell you of the sights they saw before finding you. The dragonflies they will tell secrets, the secrets of the things people dare not say. They see the things people hide in the hearts, the things people forget are even there. But the dragonflies remember, they've seen. They tell the tree's secrets and bring word from the sea.
They like to sit on your shoulder; to try and see the world the way you do. You inspire these little beings to look deeper and look longer. Truly inspiring they say, truly truly you are.
They will come in times of need and whisper, "I am here, worry you do not need, it will be okay, I am here." They know just what to say and when to say it. They know when you need to hear that this isn't worthless, they know when you just need to hear that you aren't alone. They're pretty smart for something so small.
They hide in your hair hoping the you will protect them from the bees. The bees and the dragonflies have been at war for a long time you see. Sometimes when you hide in your box called a house the dragonflies find somewhere new to be. And just when you think they have forgotten you, they come back. Because you see the dragonflies they have many places to be and people to love. But they will always come back, they love you you see, come back and have new stories to tell new secrets to share. Oh how they so do delight in you.
The dragonflies have come. They are here. And there's no going back. They're too attached to you. They will protect you in ways you didn't know you needed. They love you in ways you didn't know there was.
The dragonflies, oh the dragonflies.
