four years old

Allow me to introduce myself once again, my name is Savana-Raine, I am the writer and voice of Time and Light Switches. I’ve been posting to this blog since 2020, a strange year we can all agree, and I didn’t know exactly what I was doing when I started but I know where I’d like to go.

Time and Light Switches started simply as a way and sort of commitment to share my writing with more than just my friends and family. I stared posting the things I was writing, the poems and stories and just all around thinkings I had about the life I was living. Sometimes that meant I was talking about my art and sometimes that meant talking about my emotions the only way I knew how to. One can only express and exclaim their emotions so many times before the need to simply sit with them arises.

Then the creative process took over. I suppose that was about two years ago now, that I put a heavy emphasis on talking about my creative process rather than my feelings. I’ve swung back into a balance of sharing both my creative and emotional process, as they interact and intersect with one another.

I’ve always wanted to be an artist, long before I hit double digits, but I wasn’t sure in what vain. Something about hitting my twenties must have jumpstarted me because I started writing almost obsessively. Not all of it was good and a good amount of it will never see the light of day. But it has been one of my greatest joys while being a twenty something, getting to have an archive of works proclaiming my progress and improvement at something I value and love.

Now I’ve been writing a book for a little over a year, and loving it more than I thought possible, while sharing the process of it all with you here. I plan to continue sharing my writing process, specially my novel writing process, for as long as I’m a writer. I also plan to keep sharing my own life stories, such as my adventures both planed and spontaneous, and my poetry which I’ve been obsesses with as of late. I’m sure there are also plenty of new and exciting things that will come out of this next year of writing and I’m excited to continue sharing them with you all.

If you’re new here, thanks for giving me a shot, and if you’ve been here awhile thanks for hanging out. I love to here for those of you who read and are impacted by my words so feel free to drop me comments and interact with me on social media.

Thanks for coming along on the adventure, and happy four years Time and Light Switches!
